Activity Therapies

Zoë has been providing creative, meaningful and therapeutic activities to adults living with MCI, dementia, brain injury and mental illness for the past 13 years. Activity Therapy sessions are geared towards developing a therapeutic relationship in which the client feels safe and appreciated for who they are. Zoë works gently with her clients, through activities, to help find meaning, connection, and healing around whatever issues arise in their journey towards acceptance of chronic illness, pain or loss. Zoë often uses elements of art therapy, music therapy and poetry therapy in her work.

She meets with her clients virtually, or in person at her Danville or Oakland offices, or wherever the client is — at any type of residence, even at the hospital — and works with people at all levels of cognitive functioning. Specializing in Alzheimer's and dementia care, Zoë connects with people who love the arts: music, literature, art, poetry, theater, dance, opera in a variety of creative ways. When possible, she accompanies clients virtually or in person to arts & cultural venues: museums, galleries, libraries – and other places of architectural, historical and natural interest. Zoë provides bedside and table activities in any setting.
